Summer is ending. :) Tiri turned 5, and she started going to school all day, and riding the bus! Here she is after she got home on her first day. It was pouring  when I took her to the bus stop that morning, so not a lot of Kodak moments at that point. It was drizzly when she got home, but warmer. December is coming, so I'm working on the baby hats for the donation in Freddy's memory. I'm wavering between donating 3 times 36, or 4 times 36. For sure, I'm taking a set to Sacred Heart, Luther Midelfort, and the hospital in Rice Lake. I'm also tempted to take a set to the hospital in Black River Falls. I haven't been back to that hospital since Jerek and I left there with an empty car seat after he handed our baby boy to a stranger to take him for his autopsy. Hi! Wow. Long time, no blog. There is so much newness that it's going to take a few blog posts to cover it all. What shall we start with... how about a Fritzy update? He's big! As of a couple of weeks ago at his WIC appointment, he was 14 and a half pounds and around 24" long. This kid is wearing onesies at 3.5 months that Tiri wore at 10 months! See? Tiri at 10.5 months Fritz at 3.5 months. He smiles, laughs, rolls over, props himself up on his elbows and looks around, babbles and squeals, chews his fingers, and scoots himself along on his tummy (though he doesn't scoot to any particular destination yet.) He's definitely a little charmer. <3

It's a Doc McTiri! :) She picked out this little Doc McStuffins play set yesterday with some money that my aunt Kathy gave her. She loves Doc and playing doctor. We had a growth ultrasound on Thursday. They think he could be a little over 6 pounds already! o.O We're almost to the point of shifting focus from keeping him in to getting him out. I can't wait! I'm 35 weeks and 4 days. (35 and 3 here.) I didn't realize I stick out so far, but it sort of makes sense! :) Garage sale season is starting! I can't wait to hit up a few. It's an obsession that was transmitted to me in the genes. I'm transmitting it to Tiri. ;-)

Tiri wanted to take her doll to my aunt's house yesterday. Sometimes she decides one baby is It for a while and plays only with her (or him, depends on her mood) but she also says she doesn't have enough doll clothes. Honestly, I have to agree. Terrible, terrible knitter mommy, I know. :) So, I made the doll a nice little pair of booties. Here is the pattern. Baby weight yarn, I used Bernat Baby Sport Ombre Size F crochet hook Size E crochet hook Scissors, etc for finishing Make two alike. With size F hook, chain 3. Round 1: Sc in first chain 11 times. Join with slip stitch to first st. (12 st.) Round 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around, join to first st. (12 st.) Round 3-5: Repeat round 2. (12 st.) Now you will begin to work flat instead of in the round. Row 5: Ch 1, with chain counting as first st. Sc in next st and following 9 st. DO NOT JOIN. (11 st.) Row 6: Ch 1, sc across. (11 st.) Today I trimmed Tiri's bangs. She was not happy having her hair brushed (usually isn't) but she thought she looked pretty after I was finished. :) Look how long it is now! And this is after giving her about an inch worth of a trim maybe a month ago. And then this evening, I decided to do a bit of sewing. I've known about  Teeny Tears  for a while, but I didn't have a sewing machine for a loooooonng time. Now that I have one, I wanted to make some diapers. I made one a while back, but they are donated in pairs. Alas, I couldn't find that first diaper. (Tiri probably took it, she was quite fascinated by it.) So, I cut out enough to make two large and two small, and I made my first two Teeny Tears Diapers sets. :-D They're so tiny, especially the small size. :'-(

For Michelle, anyway. :) I've been knitting and crocheting for him, since her shower is in less than 2 weeks. We will see if I actually get to go, but I hope to. And if I don't, well, then I guess I'll give her the gifts another time. Here is what I have made for her so far: This is Faux-isle Baby Hat I am making mitts to match it, and will be writing the pattern up here when I get them both done since it's easy and cute. I have one mitt done now, and half of the second one. I also have these Pistachio Mitts made, I just crocheted these up one day at my aunt's house when the yarn wasn't behaving for what I had originally planned to make with it. These are made with 100% organically grown, spun, and dyed cotton. They are super soft! And lastly we have this Soft Burp Cloth . It's a good burp cloth size when put over the shoulder.
