Pictures

I don't really have much to say, so here are some pictures from the last few months. A donation to the hospital in Hudson, WI. And this is one of the card I bought. Originally it was going to be for the big Freddy Project Memorial Donation but I got 500 so am putting them on hats that are going to hospitals I don't typically donate. A preemie top. I've been playing around with more of  Marianna's Lazy Daisy Days  patterns too, mostly hats (though the preemie top above is one of her patterns as well.) Oh, and here are the last two donations I took to Sacred Heart. That's about it for now. :)

What has been going on lately...

Hello all! :)  Life is trucking along around here.. First, Jerek got a different job (again). He's driving again. So far, so good.  Second, I found another place to donate! The hospital in Rice Lake, WI. :) I took them this package of lovelies: I should take them some more on Friday as Jerek plans to take us over there again. We shall see. My knitting efforts are quite all over the place right now.  The small humans continue to grow at an alarming rate. Tiri went on her first field trip a week or so ago. It was just t the library, but still, it meant she got to ride on the school bus. She's been quite obsessed with riding the bus for about the last 2 years. Fritz can walk farther and farther unassisted. He'll be 1 next month. ::sob:: Last weekend we went to Govin's Berry Farm to see the baby animals (they have an open house type event for several weekends each spring for this purpose. Tiri held a lamb and went on a pony ride. Fritz just watche...

So far behind, I have snails honking and telling me to hurry up....

Hi! Wow. Long time, no blog. There is so much newness that it's going to take a few blog posts to cover it all. What shall we start with... how about a Fritzy update? He's big! As of a couple of weeks ago at his WIC appointment, he was 14 and a half pounds and around 24" long. This kid is wearing onesies at 3.5 months that Tiri wore at 10 months! See? Tiri at 10.5 months Fritz at 3.5 months. He smiles, laughs, rolls over, props himself up on his elbows and looks around, babbles and squeals, chews his fingers, and scoots himself along on his tummy (though he doesn't scoot to any particular destination yet.) He's definitely a little charmer. <3

So I made this...

This is Fritz. :) He was born May 11th at 1:23 pm. Labor was long and I ended up getting an epidural so I could calm down and deal. (Fear+tension+pain cycle is totally real, though my fear was about something happening to Fritz rather than labor itself.) I almost caved and asked for a cesarean, but ended up having the epidural instead. I apparently am really good at pushing out babies. I pushed a whole ***three minutes*** to birth my 8 pound 2 ounce son. With nary a tear. Hardest part of recovery was a backache from the epidural hitting the place my chiropractor always says is out of place and making it spasm and be sore. He's a great little guy. I've been having lots of fun taking pictures. ;)

Finished a Few Things

I broke down and bought a new hook, and I finished up Fritz's blanket! :) It's so soft! :) His sweater has the start of a sleeve, but I haven't gotten too much farther on it. I did make booties for him! I started a hat to match these booties. I'm calling these booties and hat "Diaper Bag Booties" and "Diaper Bag Hat" because that's just where they are going. I got to thinking that I should keep a hat and booties in the bag, because there are lots of variable for a warm weather baby. You have them dressed for heat, and then you go in somewhere that's chilly, like the grocery store. :) Yay knitting excuse. Last Saturday I went to an all-day birthing class at Sacred Heart. It was sort of interesting. I did some internal head shaking about a few things, but I also liked some of the things I heard. They're pretty adamant about the breastfeeding, which makes me happy. They said they want skin to skin for at least an hour after B...

That Was Sudden

I am 30 weeks pregnant. Let me ask you, how the heck did that happen? Still, it could be another 10 weeks before Fritz is here... or it could be 8, with each passing day bringing it closer. Having a bit of an omg flail. I started a sweater and a blanket but have finished neither. The hook for the blanket has mysteriously vanished, and I had a cut that wouldn't let me knit for a few days. It's better today though so woo hoo. :-) We've procured a double stroller and a fantastic new diaper bag, which is partly packed. I've gotten clothes, diapers, two bottles, some emergency formula, a set of pacis, tushie cream, bibs, and possibly some other things I can't think of right now. All that's missing, other than Fritz himself, is his car seat. The more I think about it the more I'm ready to go get it, but Jerek is putting it off. Why, I have no idea, when we're getting other things left and right. Oh, and I need to get a breastpump, but it's h...

Randomness (and possibly grouchiness)

So I made a plan to blog more often, which is a great thing, right? Yeah. No idea what to write about. This is me today: Jerek's back is acting up again, which what's new there, but the back and forth, "yes I'm going to do this wait no I can't wait maybe it's not so bad oops spoke too soon...." Starting to wear on the crazy pregnant lady. I'm busy enough worrying about whether I actually get a baby to take home at the end of this, without worrying about everything else. I had a midwife appointment yesterday. It sounds like I'm going to be delivering at real hospital, with my midwife there and working with me as long as everything goes okay... If the male doctor (or any man, for that matter) tries to get between my legs, I fully intend to kick, hard. This sums up my views on that topic: *Sigh* and this also means that I need to start the whole hospital birth plan thing. Ugh. Back to researching and planning and worrying and a...

Yesterday

Hi! Yesterday was a pretty good day! :) Look what I did: Yes, I actually, finally got a new haircut. It's sort of like one I found on pinterest, but with deeper layers because I liked that look. I almost wish it were shorter, but it looks cute. :) Also, we did the follow-up ultrasound and he was a good boy. We even got three cute pictures to take home. Appointment with OB on Thursday was awesome! He just deadpanned "Having another VBAC is totally reasonable, no reason why you shouldn't try it again." And he said I wouldn't have to have staples if I have to have surgery again. He seemed not too impressed with how Tiri's birth was handled and how I was too knocked out to meet her for so long. He said I will be awake to meet my baby if I have a section. I think I'm in love. And, first time ever, I had Jerek take a bump picture yesterday. Not going to share here, but I am happy we did it. :)

Quiet Couple of Days

Not too much going on right now. Knitting and crocheting, of course. Working on some Bundles of Love things like these: Plus a washcloth and a pair of mitts I haven't gotten on Ravelry yet, and a few other things that aren't done. I took Tiri to a family fun event in Eau Claire on Saturday. She got a balloon, petted some animals, we watched a dog agility show, and had a pretty good time. Then we went to Walmart and I think after that we came home. Since then we haven't been out to do much noteworthy. I'm thinking of taking her to my aunt's house today but she's still snoozing. Let sleeping Tiris lay, I say! I have two appointments this week for Fritz. On Thursday at 3pm, I meet a Dr. LaRusso, at the request of my midwife. It seems she wants a real OB to say that I can or cannot VBAC. Ooooo-kay then. If he tries to touch my lady bits I'm giving him a bloody nose. Then, on Friday, is an appointment that I'm actually looking forward to: anoth...
